Terms of Service

This is an interim notice. AstroClipz changed from a tool its developer ran for himself into a hosted service other people can sign up for. The Terms previously published here described the older arrangement and are no longer accurate, so they have been replaced with this shorter, correct statement while the full Terms are finalised.

1. What AstroClipz is

AstroClipz ("the Service", "we") is a hosted web service at app.astroclipz.com, operated by Shah-Meer Chadder Nazir, based in the United Kingdom.

It lets an account holder capture moments from Twitch livestreams, edit them into short vertical videos, and publish them to their own connected TikTok account through TikTok's official Content Posting API. Each account holder controls their own clips and connects their own social account.

AstroClipz is currently a private beta and accounts are invite-only. Sign-in is limited to accounts we have approved in advance, so you cannot yet create one without being invited. We intend to open sign-up to the public; when we do, these Terms will be updated to say so.

2. Your account

You are responsible for what you do with your account and for the content you publish through it. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.

3. Source footage and permission

This is the most important clause on this page.

• You may only use AstroClipz on footage you have permission to clip — whether granted to you directly by the streamer, or through an official clipping campaign that licenses the footage for this purpose. When you set up a channel, the Service asks you to confirm this and records your confirmation.
• AstroClipz does not and cannot verify that permission. If a streamer, platform or other rights holder objects to a clip you made, answering them is your responsibility.
• Rights in the underlying footage remain with the original creators and rights holders. Permission from a streamer does not by itself cover the game being played, the music playing, or other people appearing on the stream.
• You must stop capturing a channel promptly if permission is withdrawn.

4. You are the publisher

Clips are published to your own connected account, under your name, by your own decision. You are the publisher of what you post. Published clips are creatively transformed — trimmed, retitled, captioned and branded — rather than re-uploaded unmodified.

5. Rights holders — how to reach us

If you are a rights holder with a concern about a clip made using AstroClipz, contact astroclipz06@gmail.com and we will respond. We keep a record of who claimed permission for each channel and can act on it.

6. Human review and approval

Every clip is individually reviewed, edited where needed, and explicitly approved by its account holder before it is uploaded to any platform. The Service does not publish content automatically or without human approval.

7. Connected accounts

Social accounts are connected to the Service only through the platform's official authorisation (OAuth) flow, and only by the account holder who owns them. You can revoke that authorisation at any time in the platform's own app or security settings, which immediately prevents the Service from posting to that account.

8. Platform policies

Use of the Service is subject to, and designed to comply with, the terms and developer policies of the platforms it connects to, including TikTok's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines and Developer Terms. Where these Terms conflict with a platform's terms, the platform's terms prevail for activity on that platform.

9. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to publish content that is unlawful or hateful, or that breaches platform community guidelines; to manipulate engagement metrics; or to misrepresent the origin of content. We may suspend or remove an account that does.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the operation of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Full Terms are being finalised

A complete set of Terms is being prepared with professional advice and will replace this notice. People who hold an account have separately been shown and accepted the Terms and Privacy Policy presented inside the app when they signed up; where those differ from this notice, the version accepted in the app governs that account holder's use of the Service.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
