Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 June 2026
AstroClipz ("the Service", "we") is a personal content publishing tool operated by its developer ("the Operator"). It is not offered to the public, has no user accounts, and is designed to handle as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what data the Service touches and how it is handled.
1. Data the Service handles
- Platform authorisation tokens. When the Operator connects a social media account (e.g. TikTok or Instagram) through the platform's official OAuth flow, the Service receives access tokens for that account. Tokens are stored locally on the Operator's own machine, are used solely to upload approved clips and read post performance statistics for those accounts, and are never shared with third parties.
- Basic account information. The platform may provide basic profile information (such as account display name and avatar) as part of the authorisation flow, used only to identify the connected account inside the tool.
- Content and statistics. The Service handles video clips created by the Operator and post-level statistics (e.g. view counts) for posts made by the Service to the Operator's own accounts.
- Publicly available livestream chat. To detect notable moments, the Service processes public chat messages from livestreams it is authorised to clip. Chat data is used only for moment detection, is not linked to identified individuals, and is not published or sold.
2. Data the Service does not handle
- No data about other platform users' private accounts, followers, messages or behaviour.
- No payment or financial information.
- No sale of any data, and no sharing with advertisers or data brokers — ever.
3. Website visitors
This website is a static informational site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may collect standard technical information (such as IP addresses) in its server logs as described in GitHub's privacy statement.
4. Storage and security
All Service data — tokens, clips, and statistics — is stored locally on hardware controlled by the Operator. Access tokens are kept out of source code and version control. Reasonable technical measures are used to protect stored credentials.
5. Data retention and deletion
Tokens are retained only while an account remains connected, and are deleted when the account is disconnected. Rejected clips and raw footage are routinely deleted by the Service's storage housekeeping. Authorisation can be revoked at any time in the connected platform's app or security settings, which immediately invalidates the Service's access.
6. Third-party platforms
Data received from TikTok is handled in accordance with TikTok's Developer Terms and applicable policies; data received from Meta platforms is handled in accordance with Meta's Platform Terms. The Service requests only the minimum permissions needed to upload approved content and read its performance.
7. Your rights
If you believe the Service holds data relating to you (for example, you are a creator whose stream was clipped, or you appear in a clip) and you wish to ask about it or have it deleted, contact us at the address below. UK and EU residents have rights under data protection law, including the rights of access, rectification and erasure.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
